Giving back through fencing

We do the Fence-A-Thon once a year and 100% of the money raised goes towards supporting the kids. From buying equipment for the kids who can’t afford it, to helping to pay for tournament fees so kids can have a chance, and for some, helping to subsidize the cost of travel to these tournaments. Moreover, Youth Fencing Chicago goes beyond just fencing, we provide opportunities for fencing clubs with the YFC Community Grants and The En Garde Merit Scholarship to help student fencers with each step they take inside and outside of fencing.

Fencing carries great benefits for the growth of young children. It’s a sport that is a great developmental tool because the fencer trains and competes both as a team and as an individual. It is also both physically as well as mentally challenging. Unfortunately, being a unique Olympic sport, many kids don’t have the physical access or the financial means to this opportunity. We want to change this.

It is our hope that through fencing, the kids can develop skills to help better themselves, and to help better our communities!

A very Big Thank You in advance for taking the time to help - The Youth Fencing Chicago Team
